An independent guide for beginner mineral collectors. We are not a publication, museum or shop, we do not appraise or buy finds, and we are not connected with the former website on this domain.

Archive

Here you'll find every page of the guide, grouped by year of preparation and tagged with its main topic. The filter above the list lets you show only pages about practice, mineral properties, fieldwork or collection. Many pages touch on several topics, but in the archive each one carries a single main tag. If you don't know where to start, pick the “practice” tag: it gathers everything you'll need on your very first outing. And if a pile of unlabeled stones has built up at home, open the “collection” tag.

The archive is an inventory of what is already done. There are no placeholders or promises here: every line leads to a page you can open and read right now.

— A thought in the margin

How the archive works: an entry appears here only after the page is published and opens without errors. The date marks the day the material was prepared, and the tag marks the main question it addresses. Unrelated pages that once existed on this domain are not part of the archive and never will be. If a page is revised, it stays in the same place, and its preparation date is updated along with the text. The archive has no links to shops, clubs or third-party services, only internal pages of the guide. We deliberately keep the list short: a few well-thought-out pages that are easy to return to with each new find are better than a long feed of random notes. As new articles appear in the catalog of practical guides, they will take their own lines here with a date and a topic tag, while older entries will stay below, so you can always find what you read before.
